Can I use Firefly® with condoms?
We often get asked if you can use Firefly® with condoms. It is safe with polyurethane condoms only, though previous versions of our product contained latex-safe ingredients. Since our formulation change in March of 2009, please do not use the new formulation of Firefly® with latex condoms!

It is also safe to use with toys made from natural rubber and silicone and elastomer. This is because Firefly® doesn't contain silicone or petroleum derived ingredients.

Why did you name it Firefly®?

Is your product safe for my unborn baby? Can I use Firefly® if I am pregnant or if I am trying to get pregnant?
Firefly® is not a contraceptive and will not prevent pregnancy. As with any personal care product, if you have a concern please consult your physician or gynecologist. Simply read them the list of ingredients and ask for a professional medical opinion. We believe that Firefly® is one of the safest products available but we are not medical professionals and you should always seek medical advice when concerned with pregnancy.

Why isn't Firefly® latex compatible?
In March 2009, we changed our formulation to include greater benefits. One of the tradeoffs for increased natural benefits was that our formulation was no longer latex compatible. Though, polyurethane condoms are highly recommended for use with our product where pregnancy and disease prevention are a concern. Also see the first FAQ referring to this point. Even though this product is no longer latex compatible, the ingredients are milder and less sensitizing and 100% natural and gentle. We are constantly striving to improve formulation and benefits for our customers. This is the best Firefly® we have ever manufactured, bar none! We are very proud to say, we have built the best of the best of personal lubricants, bar none.

What are the primary benefits of Firefly®?

Someone told me that Firefly® is just like Nude™ Personal Lubricant?
Firefly® feels a lot like Nude™ and some believe it has greater benefits including improved feel and a more luxurious cushion, and greatly improved flavor. We have put in every ounce of quality that you once experienced with Nude™ Lubricant. The reason it feels better than Nude™ is because with recent innovations we have added a few unique ingredients that create a greater sensual experience for the customer. We believe it is the most pleasurable intimate solution available on the market today.

Does Firefly® feel different than other lubricants?
Many lubricants contain either water or propylene glycol as their basis. Then they add thickeners like glycerin or silicone or carbomer. These pretty much all feel alike. Some thicker or thinner, some dry faster, some remain longer. Like silicone based lubricants; they don't dry, they just spread out but silicone based lubricants can be problematic. We believe that silicone based products can potentially do some harm to the vagina wall and we prefer not to use this ingredient in our products. Firefly® feels a little different than water based and silicone based lubricants. Instead of water or silicone chemicals, we use plant based ingredients that never dry because they have no water in them. And they feel great because they are made from essential fatty acids found in nature and your skin loves this. They also feel great because we have balanced the slip and grip of these wonderful extracts to make sure that you receive just the right amount of glide and just the right amount of contact with your partner. So you will find that you enjoy sex more because you can actually feel what is going on rather than just sliding around.

Is Firefly® like a warming lubricant?
Though Firefly® does not contain warming ingredients, it also does not need them. This is because Firefly® does not contain water or glycerin or anything that evaporates. When water evaporates from the surface of the skin, it cools the skin rapidly. This is why water-based lubricants feel cold or cooling on the skin. Because Firefly® doesn't contain water or glycerin there is no need for an ingredient that compensates for this problem customers sometimes experience with water-based lubricants like KY or Astroglide.

Are there any safety precautions I should know about?
Exercise reasonable care with use. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Firefly® is for cosmetic use only. Keep out of reach of children. Firefly® is not a contraceptive and will not prevent pregnancy. Do not use if tamper evident seal is broken.

Are samples available?
We do not currently have samples available.

Can I use Firefly® for oral sex?
Absolutely. We use only the highest quality food grade ingredients.

Does Firefly® contain Sodium Laurel Sulphate or anything that would irritate or sting me?
No it does not. Firefly® is so gentle it will never sting or irritate sensitive skin.

Is Firefly beneficial for women who suffer from Menopausal symptoms?

I have chemical sensitivities. Can I use Firefly® without any complications?
Of course there is always the slightest chance that this could happen with any personal care product but we advise that you test it on a small area of skin if you have some concern. But you should know that because we only use all natural ingredients, and no fragrances or scents or artificial ingredients, it is highly unlikely that you will experience any adverse reaction. Our ingredients are so gentle they will never sting or irritate delicate skin, as you may have experienced with other products.

Is it safe to use oil based lubricants in the vaginal area?
Contrary to popular belief, natural oil based lubricants like Firefly® are the most beneficial to genital health. They do not disrupt the natural pH of the vagina and unlike petroleum based products, natural plant oils never interfere with vaginal health and cleanliness. This is because women tend to accumulate petroleum and silicone based substances within the vagina. This sometimes creates an imbalance and sometimes results in a yeast infection. The ingredients in Firefly® are symbiotic with the human body and are actually almost identical to the chemical makeup of the skin's oils and sebum, so the body recognizes the symbiotic quality of these compounds and this ensures a friendly reaction by the body and its systems.

How long will it take to ship my order?
Your order usually leaves our warehouse by next business day, holidays excepted. Though it may leave our warehouse, we do not guarantee shipping times by the United States Postal service. Please see their website for estimated shipping times by order of service. Our shipping warehouse is located directly in the center of the United States for quickest shipping to all areas of the country. We also ship regularly to Canada, Europe, England and Australia, and can ship anywhere in the world as long as shipping options are available by one of our carriers.

What types of shipping do you use?
We offer Standard and Rush Delivery. Please see the United States Postal Service website for more information on First Class and Priority Mail delivery estimates. We cannot guarantee shipping times handled by the postal service since we as a business operate independently of this government agency. For any disputes please contact your local post office to discuss shipping options and estimated shipping times once it reaches their office. At this time we do not offer Overnight delivery. For international deliveries we cannot offer a time guarantee.
